Proxy War from Not Emulation + by Colour Sound Oblivion

My teacher in my Music Tech class assigned us a song project wherein we had to use three samples he provided us with and record some brand new audio using an external microphone. Additionally, he previously assigned us a listening project where we had to compare two songs; I was taken much more with the song "My Machines" by Battles than "Sad Machine" by Porter Robinson. Inspired by the former song, this was my result for the project. It's the only song on this EP where I sing.

One of the samples was someone saying "30 magazine clip in half a second," a reference to assault rifles. It made me think of war, so I decided to create a somber and looming, if experimental, song that told the story of a person pondering the effects of a proxy war, which caused their isolation, while thinking back to the initial news broadcast they saw regarding the intense weaponry used during the war.
