For some time now CVD has been spreading his deep kicks and textures around the south of france. And now here we are, with an amazing ep that will suprise you in many points. Filled with thunder kicks, acousmatic magic and true songwriter's melodies, Surgical Goldsmith have to be listened like a trip inside your own brain-waves.

The work on sound matter is directly borrowed from electro-acoustic music, which Cvd nevertheless recedes from by his carved rythmics, line of the productions, and his concern for constant harmony.
Between minor and major, the Ep lends itself to the continual game of melodic balance. Feinting melancholia to a happier outlet, the young producer engages himself to oscillate between different phases whilst fracturing his achievements, mindful to grab the listener’s attention. Results a pictorial music, almost storyteller, therefore hardly comparable to a particular genre. It is indeed one of the first concerns of the composer not to stay locked in patterns and codes specific to a style, preferring the synthesis of the genres to artistic formalism.

Le travail de la matière sonore est directement emprunt de la musique électro-acoustique dont Cvd s'éloigne pourtant par ses structures rythmiques sculptées, maitresses des productions, et son souci de l'harmonie constante.
Entre le mineur et le majeur, l'Ep se prête au jeu continuel de l'équilibre mélodique. D'un semblant mélancolique à une ouverture plus joyeuse, le jeune producteur s'adonne à osciller entre les différentes phases et à fracturer ses réalisations, soucieux de capter l'oreille de l'auditeur. En résulte une musique imagée, et difficilement assimilable à un genre en particulier. C'est en effet une des préoccupations première du compositeur de ne pas s'enfermer dans les schémas et codes propres à un style, préférant la synthèse des genres au formalisme artistique.
