American Darkness by C.W. Franz

Originally meant to be a C.W. Franz & The Big Bluestems project, I wanted to explore a more dissonant style of playing the various instruments, using a lot of percussive techniques and deliberate or accidental microtuning. Parts recall American Byways and then veer off into freer territory. Inspired by a sense of unease that I was feeling due to current events (partially illuminated by the track titles). Recorded in about an hour and a half on 3/28/2023.
