Maw by darkturn

It's wholly possible this thing could never have existed—darkturn was closer to not being a band than being one for most of last year. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean this EP should be all the more cherished, it's just funny to me that these songs exist here and now in their best possible form. I am basically floored how good this thing sounds and that this project will continue to exist into the foreseeable future. What follows is a sentimental list to express gratitude where it's deserved.

Thanks to Sean Qualls for playing the drums real good and stepping in to play when effectively this band was gonna lay down and die. Thanks to Ed Vlcek for being in every one of my stupid bands and being the best friend I could ever ask for. Thanks to Carrie Rogers who came to these songs on the strength of a favor and made them a million times better. Thanks to Travis Noonan, who didn't play on this record, but who will be touring with us and has done more behind the scenes shit than I can keep up with. Thanks to Dylan Piskula for being a friend, being awesome, coming to most of our shows, and making the best records. Thanks to Nicco Porcello for taking us into the Sad Cactus Records family and for all the wonderful stuff you've done for us already and continue to do for us.

Thanks to all the great, local Chicago bands we have had the immense pleasure to play with and to the people who make those shows happen.
