Acéphale by Davide Barbarino

This album is dedicated to the french artist and sound explorer eRikm for the 30th anniversary of his work.
I recorded these tracks just some days before he arrived in Palermo for his live set at Mainoff Festival, taking inspiration from his music and sound performances, not forgetting, of course, the cat inside him.
The titles suggestion came also from the instant association i had comparing his sonic anarchism, in terms of using materials of every kind and the way he deplaces them in his personal musical perspective, with the work of Pierre Clastres, a french anthropologist and ethnologist, best known for his contributions to the field of political anthropology, with his fieldwork among the Guayaki in Paraguay and his theory of stateless societies: an anarchist seeking an alternative to the hierarchized western societies, he mostly researched indigenous people in which the power was not considered coercive and chiefs were powerless.
