Stillness 1 from Stillness 1 by David Kellett

Originally this track started out as a system of MIDI Loops that would play in my studio as an ambience whilst I cleared up, rearranged gear and built Jaspers Keyboard Racks. With the MIDI Loops running the music would continue to self generate indefinitely. It would actually take an extremely long time for the piece to ever come back to a point it had already been to. For this release version I slowed the process right down so that rather then being an accompaniment to activity it is an invitation to slow down. The "beat" is the Behringer Edge. I rather liked the sound I came up with on the Edge as it sounds very reminiscent of the frame drum that I use in ritual and meditation.

I've been making electronic music for 40 years. With all that has happened or not happened in 2020 I have decided that I should actually record some of my music. I love music that encourages altered states of consciousness - so expect drones and overlapping cyclical sequences.
