dear diary, what could i say to you?
i’ve been feeling different, like i’m someone new
and i know in my head that it’s not gonna last
but i’ll stand back and watch myself pathetically crash

find something new each day to complain about
stay as positive as possible, forgive yourself
and one day of stunted progress will set me back
and it’ll take me months to get back up to track

live like they tell you, follow all the tips
skincare, self talk, journal, till it’s over with
and they’ll let you in the gates, just so you can lie around
then they’ll kick you out and send you right back down

fight to be who you are, like you know who that is
aesthetics and identities, i’m tired of it
act like you’re not just an animal in the wrong place
pretend that you can recognize your face

analyze me again, i’ll get it right this time around
give a diagnosis, like it’s something new you found
i know myself better than i did the other day
i can’t do anything but change

live like they tell you to do, follow all the tips
