a cassette rip of a tape i hold close to my heart in every sentimental way possible, Patch's "Jeep Music".
released via the cassette label slabco in 1994 through mail order services, this cassette is filled with laidback beats and mellow guitar loops produced by chris heidman (member of sukpatch) and vocals from pamela valfer (during the early days of kitty craft's existence).
outside of what it is already a very sweet and blissful assortment of tunes, there's something incredibly special that i believe is hidden between the lines throughout this album. as something that i managed to find during the thick of the 2020 quarantine/pandemic, this album became synonymous with finding comfort in small spaces and bedrooms, and a heavy dose of nostalgia. the tape hiss, the playful vocals, the warm guitar tones, and goofy samples all add up into something bigger than it is. honestly it's hard for me to even try to word it properly!
i've uploaded audio of this to youtube before and shared it around privately, but having it in a more accessible and centralized spot online would make things more convenient for anyone looking to come across it. i hope you enjoy it as much as i do.
this is NOT an official upload, nor should it be treated as a reissue. in theory though i'd love to make one happen one day if given the chance. if you have an issue with this being up on this site, please let me know and i will take it down.
