I was looking for an inspiration cloud, but I'll have to go without
All this waiting

I heard the signals from the past, but signals never last, I really should have asked
I got the message from above, I should have chosen love, instead I chose a city soundscape

City Soundscapes, what a way to spoil a view, burn another fossil fuel
I regret it, but I'll never change a thing, even when the birds don't sing
I've stopped dreaming

I couldn't heed the warning signs, I couldn't lose my pride, I've never been inclined
The whole thing is coming to collapse, a thought I'll never grasp, I've comfort in my city soundscape

Rock N Roll and all that jazz, was lost on me and all my friends
We never had the patience for, the things that couldn't earn us more
While others tried change the world, with poetry and songs of love
We set our sights on carnal laws, money spent and lustful gods
But culture came and culture went, and my kind took your messages
We packaged them the way you liked, and fed you til the earth ran dry
I'm the evil you adore, 'cause good is such a fucking bore
And as this whole world burns away, you'll pray for your city soundscapes
