Pandemic by ISØLATIØN

"ISØLATIØN is two artists, self-quarantined on their own creative islands. Θ (Tromsø, Norway) and Straight Panic (New Orleans, United States) reinterpret themselves via digital collaboration during the earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic, April 2020.

We find ourselves similarly isolated, but curious with the spectacle of global disaster, blessed with endless, horrific topics of inspiration, surplus time for creative work. Each provided the other with three stems, which were added to, elaborated on, mutated. What stands here is a snapshot of time, captured in moody textures; lumbering, stumbling pulses like the passing of days which lately feel simultaneously too long and frighteningly brief; time out of joint. Armed with the sudden looming void of the absent future, and a new vocabulary to describe a universal state of Civilization under siege. Perhaps, at least, this work we share may keep you company."
