Papercuts by Death Machine

The Danish band Death Machine are releasing their new single ‘Papercuts’, taken from their forthcoming album, on March 19.

Unlike the group's hard-hitting band name, Death Machine is known for their melodic and intense songs which has made the band regular darling on the Danish National Radio. With the fast-paced and dynamic first single “Up” and “Papercuts”, the band suggests a shift in their songwriting style and sound.


The new single "Papercuts" exudes an energetic and powerful momentum, which at the same time contains a fervor, with a touch of hope. Papercuts combines the strong melody with cinematic synthesizer soundscapes, which adds to Jesper Mogensen's universal lyrics. The song is about daring to take control and to fight your inner self- critical voice that can often be governed by the fear of the judgment of others.

The story of Death Machine begins with a real shitty week in the life of lead singer Jesper Mortensen. Within one week his girlfriend leaves, his old band dissolves and he gets fired from his job. Instead of breaking down Jesper transform the anger and despair into his first set of songs by the dogma that each songs must take up to 8 hours to complete.
