Wrathful Creature by The Dena Woods Project

Wrathful Creature is an interrupted vision. Before the pandemic, I was working on an album project that worked to feature all women: musical artists, visual artists, poets, and sound engineers. This EP is the first part of that vision. The pandemic shut down production, access, and finances to keep the vision going. What is left are three songs that were created with a lot of time and care. These three songs served as containers for me when I was doing deep work in therapy to process a lifetime of unprocessed complex trauma. These songs helped to birth a new version of myself and while I no longer feel connected to the hurt carried in them, I'm grateful to them for the support they gave me.

Dena Woods is a singer-songwriter, musician, and a somatic therapist. Her music intertwines with the healing process by providing a space for people to connect intimately and reflect deeply. As a songwriter, Dena explores moments and emotions and celebrates what it means to be human.
