Escape by The Distance

2021 has been an odd year for everyone.
For us, it was the year we realised there really isn't a way to repair the damage done by the lockdowns of 2020, which were entirely necessary in controlling the raging pandemic still being felt now.

Towards the middle of the year, we were finally able to go out and work again after around twenty months of eeking out a living from home in whatever way we could (thank you so much if you bought an album or commissioned a video - we love you), we found ourselves thrust back into the fray, out of shape and under-confident.

We worked on this album in between live performances and gradually realised how much more difficult it was to find the time to devote to recording, mixing, editing and mastering that we always like to put in. It was a bittersweet feeling to be at once thankful for the ability to pay our own way once again, and yet frustrated that we now had a totally different balance to consider. At times, all we wanted to do was escape...
