Dr. Norah Lorway originally hails from Vancouver, British Columbia. She now lives in Cornwall, United Kingdom, where she is a lecturer and researcher at Falmouth University, as well as a software creator, artificial intelligence explorer, and curator of the digital music label Xylem Records.
Somehow, Norah also finds time to make immersive techno and ambient music. Recently, she co-composed the score for the feature documentary "Anthropocene: The Human Epoch", which had its world premier at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
On "Future Void", Norah uses live-coding environments and programming languages to create an otherworldly sonic palette. Tonal waves roll in from a roiling sea of shimmering sound, cresting and breaking on shores of textured static and rumbling drones, and leaving eerie silences in their wake.
