Trilogy by Distorting a Woodpecker

"Trilogy" is a collection of 3 albums wrote at the same time from November 2024 - December 2024, with those 3 albums being "Scenic Vermont in Pitch Black", "Nothingness Will Ruin You", and "Maximalist Walls". What started as feeling inspired from a road trip across New Hampshire and Vermont, and wanting to follow up the previous Distorting a Woodpecker album "May Happiness Pursue You", unraveled into a trilogy of records encapsulating the turbulent end to a memorable year. A lot of raw emotion and embodiments of various mental states were captured in these albums as they happened in real time. Each album was meant to portray the different situations they were created in, while also imploring the listener to have their own emotional reaction to the albums themselves.

"Trilogy" features a remaster (technically the first time any of these albums were actually mastered) as well as including brand new versions of the songs "Black Walls", "Expecting To See My Reflection", and "Maximalist Walls". It also includes a rewritten version of "Maximalist Walls" called "Walls on Barren Walls", which was created by The Owl.

After listening to "Trilogy" in its entirety I can confidentially say it is a completely different listening experience compared to listening to the 3 albums as the originally came out. The Owl's work in mastering these albums is phenomenal, and the changes and new versions made to the tracks on "Maximalist Walls" really expands the listening experience to an already mercurial album. I'm extremely happy with how "Trilogy" came out and I hope those who listen to it have a positive experience as well.

I'm incredibly grateful of their support and the massive amount of time and energy they put into mastering, promoting, and rereleasing these albums. [1-5] 'Scenic Vermont in Pitch Black'
Inspired from a road trip to Vermont for the first time in over 10 years. Most of the drive was at night. The trees were still covered in colorful leaves, but in the middle of the night it was improbable to see these colors of the landscape. Amazing trip attending my first show ever in Vermont, and the feeling of taking this short but memorable trip and the bliss of driving alone in northern New England in the middle of the night is what I was channeling and trying to convey in this album.

[6-8] 'Nothingness Will Ruin You'
Living a solitary, hermit-like life during a time where I lost my job, secure housing, and relationships with people I loved. Sleeping throughout the day staying awake all night, only seeing sun for 1-2 hours, sometimes less each day. It allowed me to be creative and to enjoy the time spent in quiet solitude, but also drove me into a deep depression at the same time.

[9-12] 'Maximalist Walls'
Focusing on my living situation, close relationships and intense feelings at the time.
