In a small black box a fetus sits
Inside a small black box
I open it up and I look in
To see if it is alive
It squeals like a panicking discharge

I pull it out, my baby

A crowd of people come to celebrate
Congrats they all yell

So they tell me

I put the baby under my arm and walk away
A deep sickness is inside
It makes me feel like

I hold out my hand
And collect a small degree of water
As it rains on my head

And I am still thirsty

My baby mumbles and I can’t hardly stand it
It is in my head, everything is loud
And I can’t stop the sound of my own thoughts
I can hear myself screaming to myself
