All my friends
are aristocrats
they like to sing and dance
and sit together for chitchats
they think they know better
they like to talk the weather
of if they'll need a sweater
or if it's gonna shine -

now all my friends
are talkin' tongue in cheek
and with a sideling glance
and ironic smiles speak
in absurdities
to laugh at if you please
and if you don't catch clever
you might still get along with these -

'cause all my friends
are kinda cold but kinda warm,
the kind of people
you'd have stand by in a storm;
they keep their head
no matter what ever's said,
I think they'll do well
where ever life leaves them led -

now all my friends
are all going their own way,
I wish them well but
also wish that they would stay
but like herding cats
the more you try the more they go
so I'll enjoy their time now
and just try to go with the flow...

I can't wait for all my friends
to get together when we're olde
we'll share share our stories of
hope our lives did unfold
we'll act kinda senile
and with our words be more bold
some people won't like it
