Lyrics
Faeries in stories like to sparkle and fru
They prance with a crown, wand and tutu
Doesn’t mean what you hear is true
I have something special to tell you
Real faeries smell like compost
Playing with mud is something that I love to do
Real faeries smell like compost
I’m helping the earth so I’m covered in woo poo
I like to dig and I like to grow
Planting seeds and bulbs
Is the greatest thing I know
I like to splat and squish, Mud pies my favourite dish
some people do not like it, What I walk dirt in the carpet
Not all faeries smell like compost
some of us shower once in a while
Not all faeries smell like compost
Some of us take pride in our dazzling style
I like to sing and I like to dance
My favourite move is the unicorn prance
The magic always lingers
With my awesome spirit fingers
I’m always very happy
When my feet are getting tappy
Some faeries smell like compost
And some faeries like to sing and dance
I don’t smell like compost
But the stories are not true
Let me tell what I do
Singing and dancing’s not for everyone
I’m a pixie but I don’t find gardening fun
I use my mind to help my friends
My knowledge never ends
But there’s one thing I can’t deny
They told me Real boys don’t like tu-tus
I heard glitter and sparkles were not the thing for me
So I hid myself away
Until this very day
I’ll wear it with pride
Cos it cannot be denied
It’s who I am inside
Some boys like to wear tutus
I like the way it swishes all around
I like to dance and I like to sing
This is the magic that I bring
Real faeries smell like compost
I’m proud of the days I spend digging in the ground
Not all faeries smell like compost
You don’t have to hide
All your magic that’s inside
