Recorded in London with members of The Stranglers, The Church, and The Saints, Sparkle Lane is Edward Rogers’ third solo album—and his most UK-centric. Weaving baroque textures, jangly psychedelia, and sharp storytelling, the record draws from British ‘60s and ‘70s pop while channeling a distinctly NYC lyrical voice. The title track and “Nothing Too Clever” spotlight Rogers’ melodic instincts, while the full band brings lush dynamics and instrumental color to his most expansive production yet.
