Why does it wait if it thinks there’s no hope?
It’s levelling out but continues to slope.
It’s numb but it’s thankful it knows how to cope.
How can it mend if it don’t know it’s broke?

Nobody knows where the dead people go
When they’re passing away so incredibly slow,
Lights on, nobody home.

It already failed, it already tried,
Naked and shaking with thunderous tide.
It knows it survived but it doesn’t know why.
How can it die if it already died?

It waits for the end as it twiddles it's thumbs.
It begs for release but release never comes.
It’s drowning it's memory in cider and rum.
It turns up the speaker to drown out the hum.
