We sit so quiet,
We speak no name.
Dim-lit with fire,
We fear the rain.

Our voices lost,
Our shivers lame,
But dark could not
Extinguish our flame...

The walls are cracked,
The sky won't bleed.
The soil is black,
No growing seed.

Yet in the hush,
A breath remains
A whisper clenched
In burning veins.

We are the ones the dark forgot,
The ash that rose, the flame too hot.
We never screamed, we never bowed.
But still we burn beneath the shroud.
In embers bound... we won't be drowned...

We dreamed of dawn,
But dreams turned cold.
Now silence is
The truth we hold.

Still in the soot,
We find our spark,
A flicker born
To blind the dark.
