L’illusione e l’abisso non verranno mai rivelati.

La Pangea conteneva tutti i mondi...
emersi dal mondo,
per poi separarsi...
per poi frammentarsi.

The illusion and the abyss will never be revealed.

Pangaea contained all the worlds...
having emerged from the world,
only to separate...
only to fragment.

Did anyone say „cinema for the ears“? Littered with film references in the track titles, this album makes it clear from the outset that its aim is to sonically create a film (or several of them) in listener’s heads. The intended atmosphere of the film is outlined by the cinematic works that are quoted in the tracklist.

With THX 1138, A Clockwork Orange, Eraserhead, and Stalker as the most prominent examples, the album practically lists much of the cinematic canon of international „industrial“ culture, adding the 1970 TV crime series Coralba as a more specifically Italian pop-cultural references.

The poetic liner notes seem to suggest that we are all just fragments of a „Pangaea“ of the collective unconscious, and that images and sound are the media we use to connect us back to the depths of this primeval abyss. Arguably, movies such as the ones mentioned, and music such as the music on this album, may be particularly effective transmitters to this realm, making us feel the presence of the abyss without ever „revealing“ it.
