This pit in my stomach’s an old friend
The lead in my bones just a case
The tears in my eyes are a cool drink
They wash the dirt off my face

The weight in my chest is a mantle

Showing off till my vision gets blurred

They come from the ground and then without a sound

My heart belongs in my stomach

The fire in my heart is a crackling ember now
Waiting at last to burn out
