i have seen death within my dreams
his face is ghostly white
and he is of extensive means
he rides a horse of purest black
frothing at the mouth
it carries him to hell and back
war and famine by his side
and pestilence is never
very far behind

i know this is the end
my forests will all burn
the seas will boil over
to ash the air will turn
panic and death will grip
the people of the earth
but they’ve brought this upon themselves
and what was it all worth?
the price of violence, of greed, and of deceit?
the weight of all this suffering, of never finding peace?
and these four horsemen
who bring about such ills
shall drink the blood of innocence
and not a drop shall spill

i am the mother of fallen angels
my children spoken of
in fifty thousand fables
i am the mother of weeping strangers
abandoned by the world
in fear of silent danger
i am the mother of the faithless
i watch my children fall
to those who are nameless

and they will watch this planet burn
and we will get what we deserve
