Dara needs little reintroduction for avid fakenumberfans. Since 2023, the anonymous project's heavenly brand of digital ambient has featured in two much-loved FNL albums now ("You!!" and "Oh!, Just Above The Clouds"). While shrouded in absolute secrecy, it is definitely clear how much love and care Dara holds for their craft. As such, fakenumberland is immensely pleased to be going three-for-three by featuring their latest LP, Everywhere. And it's a big one, featuring no less than 12 spirited tunes, most notably including an hour-long title track!
When Gazing at the Sky peels the curtains on this album's new world, it becomes clear that Dara's sound has metamorphized again. Compared to "Just Above", everything seems a little more loose and controlled-chaotic, though no less ethereal. The arpeggios are practically dancing around each other to the thumping in the back. "Our eyes" further demonstrates a commitment to more readily-apparent detail; get a load of the effects and how it intensifies.
Everywhere is an incredibly joyous album, with tracks like "Through the sparks" and "Shared Memories" feeling like wondrous celebrations. On the more nuanced end, "That glow" and "Shining Like Flowers" are fuzzy, refreshing respites bringing to mind the best of the previous two Dara albums. And I would be remiss to not call attention to the already-immense album's sixty-minute centerpiece. An exercise in gradual composition, it brings to mind a whimsical cosmic journey; I bet you will feel a wave of satisfaction when the song practically explodes into action halfway through.
What more can I say? I've always been pleased as punch to feature Dara's beautiful music on fakenumberland. It's a treat having a new album from them on the label, and we hope it's as much of a treat listening to it! Enjoy!
