If you are looking for some mellow late-year tunes to keep you company during those 5 P.M. starry nights, has oyster just got the thing! A recent recurring artist on FNL (having brought us the spectacular Brasil album and DJ 3030 AZTEK double single over just the half year alone), oyster's downtempo compositions have truly impressed so far. The Kite EP is a lovely follow-up to his recent longplayer, with the main track being a nicely laid-back tale with a good helping of glitchy industrial percussion. But if you think that's as laid-back as it gets, think again, because oyster has also included a dub mix of Kite that brings it to 10 entire minutes of electronic slow jamming that is sure to put your worries aside for a while. And don't forget the B-sides! Nocturne is a perfectly picturesque ambient vignette, and Pomp81* adds a bit of 90's braindance reminiscence, completing the experience rather nicely. Just like a kite in the air, this lofty EP truly soars. Please enjoy it!
