With regrets to rethink,
But there's no justifying,
So I leave it to sink in,

A bitter look of grief,
Or maybe one of guilt,
But when have I cared,
Or maybe when have I not,

And the black and white patterns
Wash over where I once stared,
What feels like I'm sinking,
Into the searing tar pits of confliction.
