Originally released on the 12rec label in 2008. 'Enfants Ruraux' was recorded mostly on a trip around Pennsylvania and the trains back to New York. I am forever thankful to my lovely friends for letting me play on their musical instruments and for inviting me to stay with them as I made this. Also a massive thanks to the churches and venues who allowed me to record freely, and were so inviting and supportive to a stranger who just wanted to record music. Kind people make all the different.
This version has been re-mastered in 2015 from the original recordings.
All music by Ian Hawgood.
Brian Talkington sings on 'I Got Stuck In Philadelphia, Made This On The Train, and Then Brian Sang Over It In New York'.
I'm a cultural studies educator, mastering engineer, and current psychology MSc student. I run the Home Normal record label, and am a biennial artist in residence at EMS Elektronmusik Studion in Stockholm, Sweden.
I hope these musical conversations and adventures help on your journey.
