Influencias from Sonidos Intensos by Fran Nava

“Influencias” is made up of three sections influenced by three different jazz composers, which manage to unite through the musicians' own interpretation. The first section, influenced by John Coltrane and his "Coltrane Changes" is rich in harmony and with an intense tenor sax melody with a "broken" accompaniment. The following section is influenced by the compositions of Branford Marsalis and his bar lines with different time formulas. Finally there is the section with an "up tempo" in 6 by 4 Mingus style with rhythmic changes. The improvisations are in charge of the piano and then the sax where the accompaniment moves throughout the three sections and the sudden changes in tempo.

“Influencias” se compone de tres secciones influenciadas por tres diferentes compositores de jazz, que logran unirse mediante la propia interpretación de los músicos. La primera sección, influenciada por John Coltrane y sus “Coltrane Changes” es rica en armonía y con una melodía intensa de saxo tenor con un acompañamiento del estilo “broken”. La siguiente sección se encuentra influenciada por las composiciones de Branford Marsalis y sus líneas de compases con diferentes fórmulas de tiempos. Por último se encuentra la sección con un “up tempo” en 6 por 4 al estilo Mingus con cambios rítmicos. Las improvisaciones están a cargo del piano y luego del saxo donde el acompañamiento se desplaza a lo largo de las tres secciones y de los repentinos cambios de tempo.
