I know the cost of being lonely, but I can't afford to fall in love.
For it would be too much for me, I not handle the rush,
but I feel your presence.

I know the cost of being distant, but I can't afford to get too close,
for it might get too close for comfort, for now I need to feel spacious,
and I need protection.

I know the cost of sleeping outside, and I'm glad to say I found a room,
even though I have I'd rather, sleep below the shining moon,
'cause I need reflection.

But most of all, I know the cost of being at all,
and most of all, I know the cost and the burden of the fall.

I know the cost of sayin' nothin', at times I lack the energy,
bodies tired from the workin', after rest I am okay,
and I seek direction.
