The song was written by Brian Alexander Morgan and was based on his feelings towards R&B singer Chante Moore. It was originally written for Charlie Wilson, but Morgan later decided to give the song to SWV.
The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 & R&B Singles chart for two weeks respectively in July of 1993, selling over 1 million copies and was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
