Your light comes out and I am shaken with tears
The sight of you is clear
May you reveal what the earth conceals

As soon as the soil warms up we will bury our grief
My wound is where your light comes in
Call me from years long sleep

Show me what has grown beneath layers upon layers of dreams
Snow as far as the mind eye can see
Ephemerals unfurling
Blood still frozen

I woke up when fall was well underway
Only a few rotten apples left
May I feel again the sweetness of spring
Briefly, and then return to sleep

Love is all that it takes
For our late embrace
Love is all that is takes

Will you let me drink from your well of fire
When I am numbed with cold and life is falling apart
I’ll thrive while the rest of the world is asleep

Like bloodroots and windflowers
Nestled unseen beneath the earth
I’ll grow my roots throughout the winter
Until flower be spoken
