Phone Sex from LARDO'S Blues by George John "LARDO" Larson

Phone sex is based on one of George’s paintings. His friend. Dylan O'Toole was part owner in a bar and let George hang some of his paintings there. He also let him perform there. One day Dylan said, let's make a song based on one of your paintings. Phone Sex, is based on boating on lake Michigan one day. One person's girlfriend could not make the event. He spent most of the time getting drunk and texting on his phone. At the end of the outing George remarked to another person on the boat, that the texter really loved their phone. The person that George made the remark to, who was a lawyer, replied. “You can’t love a phone, it is an inanimate object”. To this George replied, “he can put it on vibrate and stick it in his ass”. The lawyer then said, “that's not love, that's just sex”. This painting is a rebuttal. The phone has a text on it that says’, “This is not just sex I love you”.

George John ”LARDO” Larson is a Chicago based artist. He was born in Chicago and has lived in the area for over fifty years. He is a singer, songwriter and guitarist of electric country blues. An experimental guitarist. A performance artist, and a visual artist. He has a day job doing construction work.

George started trying to play along with blues records in 1972.
