This track marks a bit of a change in our initial sound. One of the big things we try to do in this project is keep it honest and fun. When practicing, as soon as we realize we're thinking too much about the music, we stop. It's that simple. If it isn't happening naturally, then it isn't happening. Period. With the first EP, we just went into the space and did it. No talking, just playing. With this song, we maybe talked while we were setting up our gear. A simple conversation resulting in, "hey, we can sound big without being really heavy" (even though we obviously love that). Lyrically, it's about a time when Nick was on tour in Tennessee. There was a bar called "Hare of the dog" in Knoxville, and he started hanging with a bunch of people celebrating the birthday of a girl named "Ruby". He drank way too much, got in a car with some random people who drove way the hell out of town, and was left at a Waffle House in the middle of nowhere. He sat at the bar, ate some bacon and eggs (they were gross), and started talking to two random college guys who later reluctantly gave him a ride back into Knoxville around 5am. Nick retold them the story of the evening, and the driver said to him with a heavy southern drawl, "hey man, sometimes you gotta shake it up". Half way back into town, growing more comfortable with their new comrade, the two college kids pulled out a Costco sized bottle of vodka and began doing shots while driving. He made it back to the hotel...

The next day was a good day for lifestyle reflection and was the beginning of coming to terms with needing to grow up a bit and curbing some unhealthy habits.
