O.M.G. The pandemic. This is my pandemic track. I would have released this album earlier in the year had it not been for Covid. Yes, I said it. Covid-19.
But, when you can't play live music, what do you do? You keep adding musicians to your last, and final, track of the album.
So, this was going to be me and Whitney. And it was meant to be my "electronic song," haha. I have no idea how to make electronic music. I am a folk singer. So, Whitney was my "gateway drug" into the other side. And we were messing with this song for a long time. Then, Whitney says, "What if I get Tripps to play drums on this?" I love David, and of course said yes to this.
Now, Whitney recorded her parts at her house, and David recorded his parts at his house, and so we had all these tracks to mix, and it was a huge puzzle...so I added more pieces of course. I reached out to Tim Snider to see if he was available to put violin on this song. Being in a pandemic, as it was/is, he was actually available! Tim wrote this intense orchestral part for 'Endure' that had me crying. He is so incredible!
So, that became 16 more tracks to mix with already 60+ tracks. And, with the drums and violin parts added, I needed to re-record my bass track-which I am really happy about.
Also, Vince played a huge part in dialing this song in. Since it was the last track, it didn't get nearly as much attention as the other 6 songs over the course of 3 years. So, Vince and Tyler worked together on this quite a bit before finalizing. I am so fortunate that these guys are so dedicated, talented, and patient! Though it took 3 years to get this album together, I felt incredibly supported the entire time by everyone who took the time to work with me. I could not ask for a better group of friends/musicians!!
