Dis/Mayhem by Grainer
Stuck on the losing side of a chance operation, Grainer was conceived during a late night train ride to Glasgow.
Determining to combine the angelic forces of field recordings and found sounds, Grainer set about blending tape, radio and four four kicks, to a dark ambient groove.
‘Dis/Mayhem’ celebrates the first exploration from Grainer’s underworld studio and adds a new name the Glasgow experimental music lineage.

Andrew Paine:
"of extreme use for meditation, navigation and general cuntedness” Julian Cope
Andrew Paine is a Glasgow based musician: his work ranging from solo voice, through layered howling guitars, gentle piano interludes, SW radio, oblique electronics and wherever he likes in between.
He initially broke cover collaborating with Richard Youngs in their progressive rock group project Ilk. Following their second album “Canticle” (VHF, 2005), he became particularly prolific, releasing many collaborative titles both with Youngs and with fellow Glasgow resident Caroline McKenzie as well as several solo titles. He founded his own Sonic Oyster Records in 2006 to release much of his work and co-founded the progressive kraut-rock power trio, Space Weather with Caroline McKenzie and Brian Lavelle.
Current duties extend to bass guitar with punk trio ‘The Flexibles’ , one half of theosophical thinkers ‘The Blue Tree’, with long-time collaborator, Matthew Shaw (Tex La Homa), co-founder of Turds of the Reformation with Sybren Renema (Death Shanties) and co-founder of The Domestiques with Kevin McCarvel (Smoke Jaguar).
Jordan MacRae:
Jordan is an award winning Glasgow/London based filmmaker interested in different mediums from Super 8 experiments through to high end cinema work.
He looks to work in both music and film and as his career progresses eventually combining the two mediums to produce installations of sound and image as well as score work.
DIS/MAYHEM is Jordan’s first recording which he has set intention to release. Previous works consist of long ambient swells and tape loops, created primarily for the meditative experience of producing these long calming pieces. They also serve as experimentation for current and future works, often informing video experiments.
