Mythology by Graham Simpson

This album is something quite different from my usual output. Inspired by the powerful and over-the-top soundtracks of big and brash 1980s fantasy films such as Conan The Barbarian, Red Sonja, and Krull, 'Mythology' is a four track album of 'fake orchestral music'. That is, western orchestral-style music made with synth patches that imitate the sounds of orchestral instruments. So expect tons of punchy brass, lashings of strings, and explosions of percussion all over these deliberately loud and ostentatious tracks.

This album is humbly inspired by and dedicated to the geniuses of Basil Poledouris, James Horner, and Vangelis.
