I feel a gentle breeze, and open my eyes and find myself in a grassland, starkly pale in colour.
I squint my eyes at the horizon, trying to parse where it ends, but the field seems to stretch on forever.
My heartrate quickens. I call out but my voice rings hollow, dissipating amongst the gentle rustle of the prairie.
I look every which way, panic setting in as I try to find anything, anyone, any sign of life.
But the effort is fruitless.
Desperate now, I take off running into the expanse.
I cannot be alone; please don’t let me be alone.
