Handstitched* is pleased to announce the next split-artist release by Emba and The New Honey Shade. A series of evolving limited-edition issues are released on both mini CD and C45 cassette and will focus on two artists - limited to 50 copies per release. Each of the formats have hand-crafted packaging, unique, hand-printed covers for the CD and hand-made cassette sleeves for the pro-dubbed tapes [HS44].
Emba - Cinq // "Paragraphs" was released on Handstitched* in 2020, it was Emba's first full-length adventure by Mathieu Lamontagne and Tim Diagram - a collaboration creating a semblance of texture with a skewed, off-kilter edge - the continuation is "Cinq" - part of the Handstitched* split-artist series of releases. Mathieu Lamontagne releases music under the name Arbee, exploring Eurorack and Modular sounds and has been involved in many collaborations, he has put-out a substantial body of self-released work and Mathieu (as Arbee) has released many release on labels such as Ondes Carrées, Florina Cassettes, Pertin_nce & Drift Label.
The New Honey Shade // With numerous releases under his guise, Mark Kuykendall comes to Handstitched* with his latest release "NEXUS" - a synth-heavy trip full of hooks and retrospective warmth, "NEXUS" flows seamlessly with each piece - deviating with an alternative purpose and a melodic form, something which TNHS does with [spacious] poise.
The New Honey Shade caught our attention in 2011 with the mind-changing tape release on Scissor Tail Records "Ozark Dream". Mark has continuously released a solid and reminiscent sound, defined by 8mm film and dust-laced nostalgia on many well-known labels as well as his own Unknown Tone imprint. Mark also runs the Wild Mountain Studios in Osage Hills, Oklahoma.
