Welcome, Stranger by happycatfactory
This is the first one I've worked on since moving to OREGON. It's a different vibe up here and I don't have a scanner so for now the album art is not as crisp and clean as I want it, but I'll just have to deal with it.
1. All The Books: We discovered a Japanese bookstore inside a grocery store while adventuring on one of our days off. I want to save up some money and go buy books there because they have all the good stuff.
2. Ringtones: Alyssa's always had the same default ringtone on her phone and it's annoying so I got her a bunch of ringtones and she now has sounds to choose from.
3. Boxes: So many boxes. Like I said, I'm now in Oregon and so is a bunch of my stuff. Lot's of boxes were sacrificed during our move.
4. 2000 Miles: We drove from L.A. to Arcata to Portland to Arcata to Gresham to Arcata to Gresham again to get this move done. I put over 2000 miles on my car within the span of a week and I never want to drive that drive ever again.
5. Restaurants: Well, we live in a new place so therefore there are restaurants aplenty to go and explore. This one goes out to the Truffle Hunter restaurant since it just closed at the end of last month after being in town for over 30 years. I'm glad we got to try it and I'm sad to see it go.
6: Couch Fix: We got an IKEA futon couch thing and the mattress kept sliding off the frame and it was very annoying. Apparently it was upside down and now that it's fixed it doesn't slide off anymore. We are stupid.
7. Greenery: Well, you know its Oregon. Feels like a new chapter in my life. So weird.
8. Milkshakes: I purchased a milkshake and there was real strawberries in it. So fresh.
9. Melt Away: I actually made this one back in L.A. but it didn't make the cut. It fit in with these songs so I just re-purposed it. I like to melt scented wax and also my life felt like it was just melting away because I was jobless for so long.
10. Thunders: IT THUNDERS IN THE SUMMER HERE. WHY?!
11. Fans: We live on the second floor with no AC and damn it gets hot. We got fans on all the time. Electric bill is no fun. Things we never thought about when moving here.
12. Shelves for Monsters: Alyssa has a lot of monster figurines and we need a place to display them all. We need SHELVES...... for MONSTERS. Things we never thought about when moving here.
13. Airport Way: I work at Best Buy now and the street I take is called Airport Way (because it takes you directly to the airport).
14. Bandit Girl: I just wanted to make something that sounds like a theme song for some kind of old west themed project.
15. Ghost Trip: Alyssa and I wanted to go visit some ghost towns since there is a ton of them out here. Unfortunately we went on 4th of July weekend and there was an accident on the highway so we couldn't make it out to the towns we wanted to visit, and the cool areas we could go visit were packed with tourists and all kinds of dummies.
16. Ultimatum: The idea of moving to Oregon felt like a very important choice. As much as I love my family and the idea of the city of Los Angeles, I've noticed that most of my personal growth and happiness has happened while I've been away from it. It was a difficult choice to leave, but hopefully everything works out and I will become a better person for it.
