Polt from Pareidolia by Chris Harris
Polt is short for "poltergeist" or noisy ghost (and the German word is much more evocative than their widely-used "klopfgeist" which means a knocking or rapping ghost). Do ghosts rap? There's an album I'd be interested in hearing.
I did eventually discover what the cause of the mysterious noise was; the lid of a large cardboard box in the loft had mysteriously fallen to the floor.
