Canberra favourites Mornings present their first release - a self-titled collection of six pieces that many will recall from one of their many live shows over the last year and a half.
The first recording to come out of Brick Lane, the new studio space set-up by hellosQuare boss Shoeb Ahmad, the quartet approach their instrumental guitar music with an ambitious spirit harks back to the energy of early 80's experimental music and the beauty of indie rock from earlier this decade. Amongst the live sound of sticks and strings are digital birds, bass waves and treated percussion that weave in and out of the record like memories or an afterthought.
This release was beautifully packaged in a gatefold cardboard sleeve created and designed by Nadia Hooton and letterpressed by Ben Owen at Middle Press.
