Ghost Data by Olor Acre

Olor Acre is a Barcelona-based project by Erik Paterna (Stmkh) and Xavier Longàs (Refectori). The project explores experimental electronics and deconstructed techno and has released music on Bestiarie and Hedonic Reversal. It has performed at clubs, festivals, and events like MIRA Festival, Bicefal Festival, Kreuzberg Club with Diffuse Reality, and The Loft at Razzmatazz with the HEX collective.
Olor Acre operates through processes of sonic decomposition and destabilization. They fragment, speed up, and repeat existing materials, creating structures that challenge fixed hierarchies and straightforward interpretations. Sound acts as a system under strain, with control constantly shifting and partially receding.
Human-made orders are translated into machine logic to create uncertain outcomes that reveal the tension between intention and execution. Meaning doesn’t exist before form; it develops through friction, breakdown, and continuous change, remaining open and unresolved within the process.

Ghost Data exists in a realm of information that has lost its place: those datas are neither archived nor erased. Instead, they are scattered; floating between systems, memory, and deeper layers of the mind. Their location is unclear, but their impact is real and persistent.
The album unfolds like a delicate structure made from leftover fragments. These small units of sound overlap, interfere, and rearrange into unstable forms. Instead of creating coherence, these structures express absence, where loss becomes something that can generate meaning rather than just an end.

Rather than addressing disappearance as a narrative event, Ghost Data treats it as an operational state. Information comes to life not through keeping it intact but by distorting and misaligning it. What surfaces is a landscape of persistence without a clear starting point, where sound carries traces, failures, and unresolved presences.
