Ontology (HT032) by The Corrupting Sea

Ontology is the philosophical study of the nature of being. Ontology, through four tracks, is a journey of the contemplation of “being”. “Ontos 1” begins on planet earth, amid the creatures and sounds that might populate our world in which we walk through. Our place near our neighbors, strangers, and friends. “Ontos 2” moves the listener to something larger, an existential realization of our smallness in a larger universe. Wide and spacious, “Ontos 2” leads into the beginning of side B with “Ontos 3”, which continues into our wider universe, reminding us of our, perhaps, unimportance in nature writ large as suns explode, black holes swallow galaxies, and universes traverse the massive void that is space. “Ontos 4” brings the listener back to earth, with the call of birds, insects, and the sounds of familiar creatures that also reminds us of how this little rock we fly through the universe on is important for our survival.
