Yesterday I had the privilege of encountering a hidden-object game created hastily by Patrick Michael Ballard, interlocking, yet disparate pieces were performatively littered around a shared workspace, one of which Patrick Michael Ballard had only visited briefly over the course of the afternoon, yet haunted till the end of dusk.

When I left the space the game had taken place in, deep into the night, a distant laugh followed me to my car, I turned to face it, thinking it was from a familiar source. As I turned back around to continue my trek to the car, it sounded again, perhaps even louder. I turned around, calling out to it myself -- but no one answered, nothing answered, I was alone.
