I had the idea to do a this a few years ago. I decided to try it out when some friends asked if anyone wanted to play in their basement for a new years eve party/house show. I told them I'd do it before I actually knew if I could pull it off. It ended up going really well. I decided I should try to play the same basic set but record it with the help of a homie. It never goes exactly as I plan but I think that's the fun part for me.

My setup included: American Printing House cassette machine, my box of tapes, kalimba, ezhi&aka running for 78, catboxcustoms circuit bent joyo flanger, dirge slowly melting, CBA mood, a white noise machine I found at the thriftstore, and my sp-404a filled with unhinged samples

I had Ryan do some slight pitch shifting on some of the samples I didn't mangle enough to keep the algorithm from zuckin' me if I ever post it anywhere that it might matter. The rest is recorded live in one-ish takes, no overdubs (just had protools crash at one point and we just picked it right back up instead pf starting over)
