IKENGA is a young African rapper whose bars echo Jay Z’s entendres, Pusha T’s precision, and Steez’s depth. He writes without a pen his verses come from memory, legacy, and blood. A very distant cousin of poet Safia Elhillo at best, his work bridges Rap and Griot tradition which he states is the origin of Rap. In just 4 months, he’s drawn quiet interest from ROC Nation and Chocolate City due to his Parents having ties with the companies from almost being signed.
