MEETING PLEASURE by ILYUM
Inspired by productions such as Arca, SOPHIE, BABYNYMPH, Evita Manji, Sega Bodega and the Brazilian experimental electronic scene, such as Flecha Kabal himself, and DJs from the alternative scene.
The album was born under the idea of pleasure being an independent and living entity, an out-of-body experience that is not limited to the basic concepts of pleasure as a feeling, sensation or touch. I experiment with new textures, genres, ways of producing music in this 10-track journey. I dive all the way into the serene calm of KICK and the ethereal and sentimental vocals of this track until the heavy bass in songs like NEBLINA and TORSO. As well the rhythmly percussion of TU and the break beats of DIVINE and WAIT. This album is like a pole of two extremes, yin, yang of Brazilian experimentalism and queer music.
