The person I once was is no longer alive. Just a
shell of the ghost that I hold inside. The garden
in me withers away. How did these feelings lead
me so astray?

Erratic breaths will force the water in my lungs to
become stagnant. Let me drown inside myself.

Let me drown inside myself. Immerse me in a sea
of contrition.

The weight of the world has caused my shoulder blades
to wilt. Decay has destroyed my bones. Have the roots
of these memories dug too deep in my mind to allow
me to grow?

I am responsible for sowing the weeds that halted the
growth of the flowers that you see now. I pulled them
out and left the roots to rot. Infest the garden that I
called my heart.

I can’t sink past the fucking bottom.
How can I grow when my roots are rotten?
