I know you’re very busy and got lots of things to do

But in the end both you and I really know it’s not worthwhile

Why don’t you put that long list in the shredder once for all
And instead give all the children what they need to be whole
Won’t you give to everyone a sense of unity worldwide
So that all of us can share responsibility and pride
Won’t you give us resolution and resilience to find
A way to slow things down and to save human kind
And for all the ones denying there’s a climate crisis on
You could give them some statistics to ponder upon
And all the worried children won’t be able to cope
Unless you can give them joy and reason to hope
